The position of the boiler pressure switch is on the high pressure side of the boiler. It is important that, like the boiler gauge, it needs to be protected with a siphon and that the tripod be mounted straight.
Some steam boiler pressure switches have a small arrow for this purpose. This is especially important with mercury type pressure switches. Will not work properly unless installed in a vertical position.
